How RankMyMusic works
Explore Artists, Soundtracks, and Musicals; rank track by track; then compare your choices with the community.
1.Explore the catalogs
Browse Artists, Soundtracks, or Musicals. Search for what you want, then use the available filters and sorting options — such as genre or release year — to narrow the catalog.
2.Rate an album
Rate each rankable track from 1 to 5 stars. Your track ratings are the main basis of the album score. After rating the tracks, you can also give the album an overall rating to reflect its concept, production, importance, or any other aspect you value. That overall rating has only a small influence on the score. You can change your ratings later. Where available, registered users can also listen while ranking.
3.Build your album ranking
Your star ratings automatically create your personal ranking. If there's a tie that affects the Top 3, we'll ask you to decide the order. If the Top 3 is already clear, there's nothing extra to do. Ties below the Top 3 can remain.
4.Complete an artist
Keep moving from album to album. Once you complete all required albums by an artist, the artist is complete. As you go, RankMyMusic builds your personal album ranking and your personal track ranking across the artist's catalog. If ties remain in your Top Albums or Top Tracks, you can Fine-tune the final order afterward — it's optional.
5.Explore community rankings
Community album and track rankings are available even before you rank. Explore full results and the community's strongest agreements and disagreements. Once you have rated the artist, you can also compare your own results and Community Match with the community.
6.Share and challenge
Share your results or challenge friends to rank an album or an artist's discography. Challenges keep rankings hidden until both sides are ready to compare.
7.Listening while ranking
Registered users can play supported tracks directly inside RankMyMusic using Apple Music playback. If playback isn't available for a track, the Play button will appear unavailable.

Browse Fun Facts about the catalog and artist discographies, or visit Mini Games for My Best Ranked Albums, Battle of the Year, and Album Battle. Album Battle lets you create a shareable image or an interactive voting page; creating an interactive battle and keeping track of battles you created or joined requires an account. You can start ranking before registering, then create an account to sync progress across devices and get benefits such as listening while ranking and fewer ads.
