Usher

Usher is an American R&B singer, songwriter and dancer whose career spans contemporary soul, pop and club music. Raised between Chattanooga and Atlanta, he emerged as a teenager in the mid-1990s with a flexible tenor voice and a polished, performance-led approach. My Way established his star presence, while 8701 and Confessions broadened his sound through sleek ballads, dance tracks and detailed vocal arrangements. Later albums move between relationship-centered writing, electronic dance-pop and collaborations with changing generations of producers. Across that evolution, Usher's singing remains the thread that connects his records: agile melisma, controlled phrasing and a strong sense of rhythm let him shift from intimate slow jams to large-scale pop without losing his R&B foundation.
